Chapter One Hundred Sixty: Myriad Things First Formed — Dao Grace Everlasting

Volume Four: The Dao Gives Rise to Myriad Things — Life First Sprouts

The world awoke into its first day without Pangu. Xiwei rose in the east, its light now carrying hues it had never shown before — the gold of a Creator's fire, the rose of a Creator's love. Yuanji rested in the depths, its stillness now holding the weight of a world that had lost its maker but gained its freedom.

And everywhere, life stirred. The plants that had survived the fiends' assault now spread with renewed vigor, nourished by the soil that had been Pangu's flesh. The simple creatures in the water multiplied, their bodies carrying subtle traces that had once been part of a god. The traces of Spirit Resonance grew brighter and more complex, beginning their long growth toward true consciousness.

The world was no longer a creation — it was a living thing, self-sustaining and self-renewing. It would grow and change in ways Pangu had never imagined. It would produce forms of life he had never dreamed of. It would one day produce beings who would look up at the sky and wonder how it all began — and somewhere, in the deepest part of their being, the spark of Pangu's consciousness would stir, and they would feel, without knowing why, a profound and abiding love for the world they inhabited.

Myriad Things first formed; Dao Grace Everlasting. Pangu was gone. But his gift — the world, and everything in it — would endure forever.
