Chapter One Hundred Twenty-Eight: Spirit Qi of Heaven and Earth — Permeating Everywhere

The establishment of the Wuxing cycle brought forth an entirely new kind of force: the spirit qi of Heaven and Earth. Spirit qi was a higher-order form of energy — the refined essence born from the fusion of all the world's forces, the most fundamental energy source for all life.

Pangu saw spirit qi emerging from the critical nodes of the Wuxing cycle. It flowed through the space between Heaven and Earth like invisible streams, permeating every corner. The appearance of spirit qi filled the world with vitality and energy; regions that had been dead and inert now began to stir with activity.

The pervasion of spirit qi had a marked effect on Xiwei and Yuanji. Nourished by spirit qi, Xiwei grew brighter still, and within its light, exceedingly subtle shifts of color now began to appear. Yuanji grew deeper than ever before; in its stillness, it seemed as though boundless power was now contained.

More importantly, spirit qi began to nourish those tiny Spirit Resonance scattered across the world. Under spirit qi's nourishment, the resonances began to grow and strengthen. Pangu could see those once-faint resonances now brightening, some even beginning to manifest simple forms.

The spirit qi of Heaven and Earth, permeating everywhere. As spirit qi entered his body, a cool clarity came with it — not the chill of cold, but the freshness of pure energy. Even his fading Primordial Source seemed to stir faintly at its touch. Spirit qi was the world's lifeblood, and the world had begun to breathe it, circulate it, live by it.
